Ford

Car maker Ford has come under fire for raising the price of cars for the third time this year. Prices will rise by 4% for orders placed after 30th June. This follows rises of 4.7% in February and 3.75% in April. Ford blamed the weakness of sterling against the euro for the price rises as most cars are assembled in Germany and Spain.

However Ford conceded that raising prices during a recession with a scrappage scheme in place was 'counter-intuitive'.
